Carbondale Police are searching for a man involved in a weekend shooting and traffic crash. 

Police say 23 year old Shephen  Moultire of Carbondale is wanted for aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon. 

Carbondale Police are investigating two separate shootings.

Carbondale Police Investigate Weekend Shooting

Early Saturday morning Carbondale Police say a man arrived at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Authorities say the victim is a 27-year-old man from Chicago.

No injuries were reported after gunfire early Sunday morning in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue in Carbondale.

Two men were shot late Sunday night and early Monday morning in two separate incidents in Carbondale.

Police say at around 11:25 p.m., they responded to the 1200 block of North Bridge Street after a report of shots fired. Officers learned that a white vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed prior to officers arriving.

Carbondale Police are investigating after two people were shot on East Mill Street just before midnight Thursday.

Investigators say one of the victims - 35 year old Brandon Brooks of Carbondale - was killed, and another has been transferred to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.

A person is in custody following a shooting in Gallatin County.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Department says it received a dispatch from Saline County 911 Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 about a shooting on Buffalo Road, just south of Omaha.

Authorities have identified their primary suspects in Sunday morning's shooting on West Walnut Street in Carbondale.

President Obama gave impassioned remarks Thursday calling for stricter gun laws following a deadly shooting in Oregon. He spoke for just over 10 minutes, excoriating Congress for refusing to pass gun reform legislation. He also called on state legislatures and governors to act and on regular Americans to "think about how they can get our government to change these laws," which, he said, "will require a change of politics on this issue."
