Carbondale's Big Event gathering is set for this Saturday. Sponsored by Women For Change, the event will bring together an array of community, religious and university groups with a focus on diversity, inclusion, equity, equality and justice.
Women For Change President Ginger Rye said the goal is to bring people together and bridge divisions that exist in the community.
"Speaking up and speaking out against all the indiscretions in our community and banding together against violence, against discrimination and all of those things that keep our communities divided and unhealthy," Rye said.
This year's event will be a drive through motorcade gathering, starting at 11 am at the Rockhill Baptist Church and ending at Attucks Park.
