police

Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon has released the identity of the man killed in a Sunday night shooting in Centralia.

The victim is identified as 24-year-old Dustin Rhynes of Irvington. He was pronounced dead just before eight Monday morning after his body was found lying in an alley.

A second person was also shot in the same incident. The so far unidentified man was able to run to Fireside Nursing Home where an ambulance was called to take him to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Centralia Police, Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigations and the Marion County Coroner's Office continue to investigate Rhynes' death.
