Union Co. Man Arrested on Drug Related Charges

A Jonesboro man is in the Jackson County Jail after his arrest on drug related charges. The Union County State's Attorney's office says following a traffic stop on Thursday, 51-year-old Kevin Smith has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Delivery with the Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. He is charged with possessing more than 15 but less than 100 grams of methamphetamine in a vehicle protected by a firearm. Smith is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $500,000 bond and will make his first appearance at the Union County Courthouse on Tuesday.
