Two people are in custody in Jefferson County after a drug-related search Friday in Mt. Vernon.
After a search of the residence on North 6th Street, narcotics detectives located a stolen handgun, a quantity of methamphetamine, a quantity of psilocybin mushrooms, packaging materials, and currency.
Two residents, Eric Oliver and Brittany Cassidy, were taken into custody on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Equipment. Charges related to the stolen handgun are under investigation.
