Southern Illinois is well represented on the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association 2021 Hall of Fame class.
The class includes former Carbondale High School and SIU Saluki star Troy Hudson, who had a lengthy NBA career.
Another former Terrier Dan Cross made the cut as did former Salukis Abel Schrader of Okawville and Amy Rakers of Belleville. Also named to the 2021 class are former Anna-Jonesboro standout Kassie Drew and Lawrenceville's Harold Summers.
Coaches include Ron Reed, who had stops at Harrisburg, Effingham, Lawrenceville and North Clay; Jon Kraus at Okawville and a pair of Centralia Jr. High coaches...Doug Hargis and Terry Herrell.
Officials making the Hall of Fame are Larry Barnett from Makanda; John Downey from Benton; Greg Rennegarbe of Okawville and John Sallee of Nashville.
Media members include former Southern Illinoisan reporter and columnist Les Winkeler.
