SIU-Carbondale has updated its COVID-19 active case count.
The university's web page dedicated to tracking active cases now shows six total cases. They include three on-campus students, two off-campus students and one faculty/staff member.
Last week's original report showed three cases...all involving off-campus students.
University Spokesperson Rae Goldsmith said last week students who live on campus and test positive will be moved to an isolation area, where they'll receive food, health support, and academic help to make sure they don't fall behind in classes. She said off-campus students who are isolating at home will also get academic support.
