Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has announced more than $3-million in construction projects for southern Illinois.
The Illinois Department of Transportation will oversee the projects which include road, bridge and street repair. The work covers a 7-county region of Hamilton, Lawrence, Marion, Pope, Union, Wabash, and White counties.
Specific projects include:
Hamilton County - A bridge carrying Township Road 388 over Riley Creek about three miles east of Hoodville will be replaced for $160,867 by Perry County Construction Company of Herrin.
Lawrence County - A bridge over the Wabash River overflow in the City of St. Francisville will be replaced for $325,108 by Perry County Construction Company of Herrin, the lower of two bidders.
Marion County-Work on Brookside Avenue in Centralia from Seventh to Fourth Street will be completed for $198,707 by Fournie Contracting Company, Inc. of Belleville, the lowest of five bidders. The work will include sidewalks, curb and gutter, storm sewer inlets, pavement markings, and pedestrian signals.
Pope County- A bridge carrying Illinois Route 146 over Flat Lick Branch about 4.2 miles east of Illinois Route 145 will be replaced for $1,139,504 by E.T. Simonds Construction Company of Carbondale.
Union County-A bridge carrying Clark Lane over a Dutch Creek tributary one mile southwest of Jonesboro will be replaced for $136,782 by Perry County Construction Company of Herrin, the lower of two bidders.
Wabash County- A bridge carrying Old Illinois Route 1 over Crawfish Creek about three miles southwest of Mt. Carmel will be replaced for $1,173,637 by E.T. Simonds Construction Company of Carbondale.
White County- A bridge carrying U.S. Route 45 over a creek near mile post seven north of Norris City will be replaced for $67,065 by Perry County Construction Company of Herrin, the lower of two bidders.
