One Dead After Crash on Route 13 in Williamson County

UPDATE: 5:15PM 4/17  

A Marion man is dead following a two vehicle crash this afternoon just west of the Saline County line at Nixville Road. 

Illinois State Police say 26-year-old Rashaad Anderson was killed after his vehicle rear-ended a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Thomas Spiller of Marion. Spiller was not injured.

ORIGINAL STORY: 

Traffic is at a standstill on Illinois Route 13 westbound due to a serious crash. 

According to Illinois State Police Trooper Bridget Rice, the crash is just west of the Saline County line at Nixville Road. 

Police are asking everyone to avoid the area while crew work.
