New COVID-19 Cases Dip on Mother's Day in Illinois (May 10)

Illinois recorded 1,656 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the state's overall total to 77,741.

Fifty-seven new deaths linked to COVID-19 were also announced, with the state's death toll now at 3,406.

LOCAL CASES:

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Six overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 9, with 7 recoveries.
     

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 44, with 30 recoveries and one death in Williamson County, 10 cases with eight recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • Five new cases of COVID-19, including a woman in her 50s and a woman in her 60, one preteen/teen boy, and two men in their 20s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is now 167, with 86 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • One new positive case – a woman in her 40s.
  • Overall there have been 98 positive cases of COVID-19, with 71 recoveries and 14 deaths.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, 36 positive cases of COVID-19, with five recoveries.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • 94 active cases reported, with 89 isolating at home and five hospitalized 
  • Overall, 225 positive cases of COVID-19, with 129 recoveries and two deaths.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 103 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 38 recoveries and one death.
