The negotiating team with the Murphysboro Board of Education is stressing it does not want a teacher's strike after Monday night's mediation session.
The Board team wants all board members to be fully informed of the offers and the financial and educational consequences.
It refutes the Union team's claim the district is not able to recruit qualified new hires due to pay. The Board team says the school district is able to attract quality new hires and all certified positions are filled.
Thursday night the Board Team plans to share an updated offer with the Union Team.
