Local Organization Helping to Restore Bucky Dome

The effort to restore the Buckminster Fuller Dome Home in Carbondale continues next week.

The first annual Dome Days will be held April 18th through the 20th to raise awareness about the significance of the Bucky Dome and to raise the balance of money needed to complete the first phase of the restoration. Board President and SIU-C professor Jon Davey says this event is in appreciation of the people who help fund the remodeling of Bucky's old home.

The three day event will have a World Game panel, a sound installation and performance, as well as a kids design event and a reception with live music and food. For a compete rundown of the three-day event, go online at fuller-dome-home-dot-org.  The Dome Home in Carbondale was finished on April 19th, 1960 and is the only dome that Fuller built and lived in.
