Local Orchard Optimistic About Impact of Cold on Trees

The winter storm has caused many problems for homes such as power outages and frozen pipes, but Rendleman Orchards says they do not believe the below average temperatures have affected their fruit trees.

Wayne "Ren" Sirles is the president of Rendleman Orchards in Alto Pass.  He says he has been raising fruit for 50 years and has seen a lot of winters in that time. Sirles says he does not believe there will be any problem with the crops because of this year's cold.  He says the trees are well acclimated because of a cool December that allowed buds to get used to the cold weather.   Sirles says spring is still a ways off, and a lot can happen - but he say's they're very hopeful.
