Beginning next month John A. Logan College will host a series of classes on solar energy.
The courses will include classroom and hands-on learning about the design principles and practices of the photovoltaic industry. Aur Beck of Advanced Energy Solutions will be leading the classes. He says the courses are designed to train a solar workforce. Beck says solar is the only industry right now that is growing by double digits and he'd like to see southern Illinois become a national resource for trained installers.
Beck says the full 2-week course prepares participants to take the national certification test. He says there's also a one-day basic course for anyone just wanting to learn more about solar technology.
The full course will be offered at March 12-16 and May 21st-25th at John A Logan College in Carterville.
