All eyes are on Laura in the Gulf, as she is forecast to make landfall near the Louisiana and Texas border Wednesday night.
The National Weather Service says the best chance of her heaviest rains will move through our region Thursday night into early Saturday.
Current rainfall projections suggest there could be three or more inches across the southern portion of the area by this weekend, with lesser amounts ranging north.
Forecasters say even after Laura leaves the region, lingering high humidity could produce daily pop-up storms, which may dump another inch or two of rain, increasing potential flooding issues.
