A Jackson County Jury finds a Carbondale man guilty of robbery following a two-day jury trial.

The Jackson County State's Attorney says 49-year-old Alphonzo Higgins could face six to 30 years in prison.
Shortly after midnight on February 1st, two Carbondale residents walked to an ATM on East Main Street in Carbondale to withdraw cash. Higgins and another male watched as they made the ATM transaction and then followed them for about two blocks to an apartment building at 300 South Marion Street where one of them resided.

Higgins and his accomplice then attacked the two victims and took cash from them as they attempted to get inside the building.

Surveillance video from the bank and the apartment building captured the incident and police were able to identify both Higgins and his accomplice.

The accomplice awaits trial.
