Illinois Continues to Look at Ways to Help People Get Jobs

By IRN

Chicago, IL – The state continues to look at ways to help people obtain employment.

Besides programs that provide loans to small businesses, Warren Ribley, director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, says there are other existing programs designed to help in job creation.

Ribley says small businesses are taking advantage of the Illinois small business job creation tax credit.

There are other programs still being put together, including a jobs training program. Ribley hopes to see the program rolled out soon, which would help train those who lack basic jobs skills.

There is another program in the works that would have the state work with small contractors that would enable them to better compete for road construction contracts and public works contracts.
