Illinois has passed a grim milestone of the pandemic. The Illinois Department of Public Health says the death toll is now more than ten-thousand people.
Governor JB Pritzker says hospitalizations are up 100 percent since early October, and he says he will do what is necessary to fight the virus.
"If our hospitals continue to fill up. If more and more people continue to lose their lives, we're going to implement further statewide mitigations which nobody, I mean nobody wants."
State health officials say 97 Illinois people have died in the last day.
The Governor strongly asks local leaders and law enforcement to enforce restrictions, even if that means issuing citations.
