A student at Herrin High School has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a post on the school district's Facebook page, officials say they were notified Thursday morning about the positive test.
They say the school took immediate action and quarantined all students who were in close contact with the infected student. The parents were called and the students were released.
The Herrin School District says if you have not been contacted, your son or daughter was not in close contact with that student. Students are reminded to stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or if they are awaiting test results.
