Former Congressman Glenn Poshard and his wife are leading a series of marches to call for non-violence. Poshard says he is quite concerned at the level of rhetoric he sees in social media.
"We hear people talking about violence and hatred and disunity, and all of these things. And Jo and I just decided that we've got to do something, we can't just do nothing."
Poshard says the first walk was on Monday September 28th at the Courthouse in Murphysboro, where he was joined by 40 others. The walks will take place in each of the counties Poshard represented while in Congress, and will comply with COVID-19 safety regulations.
