Four Arrests in Two Separate Drug Busts in Southern Illinois

Three people were arrested Wednesday as part of a narcotics investigation in Mt. Vernon.

A little after 6 a.m., members of Mt .Vernon Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department High Risk Team executed a search warrant at 4152 Willow Springs.
After the residence was secured, members of the Narcotics Unit conducted a search and located methamphetamine and drug equipment.

Those arrested include 39-year-old Terry Turner, 20-year-old Toni Latchford  and 34-year-old Taccarra Young. All three are charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. Young is also charged with Intent to Deliver and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The three are incarcerated in the Jefferson County Justice Center.

A drug bust in Herrin leads to an arrest and the seizure of more than 50 grams of cocaine.

The Southern Illinois Enforcement Group and the Herrin Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant Wednesday at a residence in the 700 block of North 6th Street.

They arrested 25-year-old Joseph Hart for unlawful possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver. He was taken to the Williamson County jail.  In addition to the cocaine, agents seized a digital scale and money.

The Southern Illinois Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional unit comprised of Illinois State Police and several local law enforcement agencies.
