Even with former Southern Illinois football coach Jerry Kill taking his coaching career to Minnesota, his local fundraiser remains popular.
Coach Kill started a fundraiser for cancer patients towards the end of the football season in 2005. Eight years later the fundraiser is still active as if he were still the head coach at SIU. Kill is coming to Carbondale for the 1st Annual Liberty Wealth and Health 5K Run/Walk at Walker's Bluff on June 1st, 2013. Event Organizer Joel Sambursky, who was a former player for coach Kill, says it will be fun for everyone.
When Kill left SIU he still raised money locally for cancer research. This year he will be back and will have a chance to join in on the family friendly activities. More information on the benefit 5K fun run is available at Liberty Wealth Management or Murdale True Value.
