The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the flood warning for southern Illinois until 6:30pm today for the following counties: Alexander, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Johnson, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne, White, and Williamson counties.
As of 12:20pm this afternoon creeks and streams were still running very high. Some water was still over highway 45 south of Harrisburg but the highway is open. Other roads across the warned area likely have water across them and some roads may be closed. Franklin County is reporting closed roads along the Franklin/Perry County line.
Creeks and streams remain near their crest but are expected to begin to recede late today.
