Demonstrations Continue Across Southern Illinois

Jun 6, 2020

Demonstrations against racism and police brutality continue in southern Illinois, and across the nation.

On Saturday, roughly 100 protesters gathered on the square in Benton to protest, marching around the square and making speeches.

Local law enforcement reports the protest was peaceful, and police on hand were there for traffic control as necessary.

In Effingham, nearly 500 people came together to protest. Media reports in the area say it was peaceful, as well.
