Daily Update: Restrictions Ease, Virus Remains - Another 1,462 COVID-19 Cases (May 30)

As Illinoisans navigate Phase 3 of the governor's "Reopen Illinois" plan, another 1,462 cases of COVID-19 were reported, and another 61 deaths.

State leaders say the numbers are still trending down, as more patients recover from the illness. Still, the overall total positive cases stands at 118,917 on Saturday, and 5,330 have died.

LOCAL CASE UPDATES (4:00pm Update)

Effingham County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • 7 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with four recoveries and one death.
  • 580 negative tests results.

Egyptian Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases stands at 11, with 10 recoveries.
  • 942 tests administered in the three-county service area

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 64, with 46 recoveries and one death in Williamson   County, 12 cases with 11 recoveries in Franklin County.

Jackson County Health Department:

  • 6 new cases reported - three women in their 20s, one woman in her 30s, and two men in their 40s.
  • Jackson County's total positive test count is 282, with 195 recoveries and ten deaths.

Jefferson County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall there have been 104 positive cases of COVID-19, with 88 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 1290 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, there have been 51 positive cases of COVID-19, with 49 recoveries.
  • 1279 negative test results.

Perry County Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, 42 positive cases of COVID-19, with 38 recoveries.
  • 637 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department:

  • 2 new cases reported.
  • 21 active cases, with 19 isolating at home and two hospitalized.
  • Overall, 270 positive cases of COVID-19, with 245 recoveries and four deaths.
  • 1,356 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, three positive cases of COVID-19, with three recoveries in Richland County. Two cases were identified, but those patients live outside Richland County.
  • 823 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department:

  • No new cases reported.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 226 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 93 recoveries and 11 deaths.
