Daily COVID Update: (July 27)

Illinois' COVID-19 cases rose by 1,231 on Monday, and another 18 deaths were recorded.

The new totals bring Illinois' overall COVID-19 case count to 172,655 and the overall death toll to 7,416.

The overall positivity ticked up a tenth of a point to 3.8% for the week ending July 26, and health officials report 1,417 people were hospitalized across Illinois with COVID-19. Of those, 350 were in the ICU, and 124 were on ventilators.

LOCAL CASES (6:30pm Update)

Clay County Health Department (Region 6):

  • No new cases reported.
  • 10 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with eight recoveries.
  • 1,141 negative test results.

Crawford County Health Department (Region 6):

  • No new cases reported.
  • 28 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with 21 recoveries.
  • 1,086 tests administered.

Edwards County Health Department (Region 6):

  • 11 overall positive cases of COVID-19.

Effingham County Health Department (Region 6):

  • 67 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with 46 recoveries and one death.
  • 4,104 negative tests results.

Egyptian Health Department (Region 5):Gallatin, Saline, & White Counties

  • 3 new cases reported - two women in their 40s from Gallatin County; one woman in her 50s from Saline County.
  • 174 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with 63 recoveries.
  • 4,395 tests administered in the three-county service area.

Fayette County Health Department (Region 6):

  • 2 new cases reported - a woman in her 40s and a woman in her 70s.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 45 cases with 35 recoveries and three deaths.
  • 2,077 tests administered.

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department (Region 5):

  • 1 new death reported - a man in his 70s from Williamson County.
  • 11 new cases reported - a boy under 10, a man in his 30s, a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 60s, and a woman in her 80s from Franklin County; a girl under 10, two women in their 20s, a woman in her 30s, and a man and a woman in their 50s from Williamson County.
  • Total COVID-19 positive cases now stands at 108 cases with 59 recoveries in Franklin County, and 271 cases with 175 recoveries and 5 deaths in Williamson County.

Hamilton County Health Department (Region 5):

  • 2 new cases reported - a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s.
  • 13 overall positive cases, with ten recoveries.
  • 458 negative test results.

Jackson County Health Department (Region 5):

  • 13 new cases reported - a teen boy and a teen girl, five women and three men in their 20s, two men in their 50s, and one man in his 60s.
  • Overall, there have been 542 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 377 recoveries and 19 deaths.

Jasper County Health Department (Region 6):

  • 2 new cases reported - a woman in her 20s and a man in his 60s.
  • 51 overall positive cases of COVID-19, with 42 recoveries and seven deaths.
  • 1,188 negative test results.

Jefferson County Public Health Department (Region 5):

  • 13 new cases reported (4 Saturday, 4 Sunday, 5 Monday) - three women and one man in their 20s, two men in their 40s, two women and one man in their 50s, a woman in her 60s, and one woman and two men in their 70s.
  • Overall there have been 174 positive cases of COVID-19, with 133 recoveries and 14 deaths.
  • 4,605 negative test results.

Lawrence County Health Department (Region 6):

  • Overall, 41 positive cases, with eight recoveries.
  • 1176 negative test results.

Marion County Health Department (Region 5):

  • 7 new cases reported - a boy under ten, three teen boys and one teen girl, a man in his 30s, and a woman in her 70s.
  • Overall, there have been 115 positive cases of COVID-19, with 87 recoveries.
  • 4,192 negative test results (as of 7/24).

Perry County Health Department:

  • 1 new case reported - a woman in her 30s.
  • Overall, 93 positive cases of COVID-19, with 65 recoveries and one death.
  • 2,669 negative test results.

Randolph County Health Department (Region 4):

  • 16 new cases reported (4 Saturday, 9 Sunday, 3 Monday) -
  • Overall, 421 positive cases of COVID-19, with 354 recoveries and seven deaths.
  • 4,957 negative test results.

Richland County Public Health Department (Region 6):

  • 1 new case reported - a woman in her 30s.
  • Overall, 12 positive cases of COVID-19, with ten recoveries in Richland County.
  • 2,786 negative test results.

Southern Seven Health Department (Region 5):Alexander, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, & Union Counties

  • 25 new cases reported - a teen boy, a woman in her 20s, a woman in her 40s, a man in his 50s, and a woman in her 70s from Hardin County; a teen girl, a man in his 20s, a man in his 50s, and a woman in her 60s from Johnson County; a man in his 20s, a man and a woman in their 50s from Massac County; a woman in her 80s from Pope County; a man in his 50s and a woman in her 80s from Pulaski County; a man in his 20s, a man and a woman in their 30s, a woman in her 40s, a man in his 50s, three women in their 60s, and a woman in her 80s from Union County.
  • Overall, Southern Seven reports 486 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 282 recoveries and 18 deaths.
  • 7,883 negative test results in the seven county service area (as of July 24).

Wabash County Health Department (Region 5):

  • Overall, 26 positive tests have been recorded.
  • 1,110 tests administered.

Wayne County Health Department (Region 5):

  • 1 new case reported - a man in his 50s.
  • Overall, 31 positive tests have been recorded, with 23 recoveries and one death.
