Republicans in Illinois 117th State House district will have a choice to make in March: Keep their incumbent representative, or select someone new.
Tim Arview of West Frankfort made his candidacy official Thursday night in Marion. He says he wants to boost the economy and return the region to "traditional family values."
Arview is challenging incumbent Republican Dave Severin in the March 2020 primary. Severin is in his first term as a State Representative, after unseating Democrat John Bradley in 2016.
