Senator Terri Bryant was unopposed on the ballot for the Republican primary for the 58th Senate district.
Earlier this year Bryant spoke to WSIU about her campaign, and said she believes her service to constituents is what makes her an effective lawmaker.
"I think what makes me most effective is that, rather than getting myself caught up often in partisanship, I try to listen to each of the constituents in the district, weigh out whether or not I can help them and if I can help them I do that for sure, and if it's a little more difficult we try to work through what those difficulties are," she said.
Bryant was first elected to the state senate in 2020 and previously served as a representative in the Illinois General Assembly.
