Two Sought for Attempting to Steal Unemployment Benefits

Images

Two people are suspected of trying to steal unemployment benefits from a victim in Carbondale.
Police say the victim had his personal data hacked at his workplace and the suspects filed for unemployment in the victim's name. It's believed the suspects then came to his house looking for the unemployment benefits in the mail box.

The suspects are reported to be a white male, 6’05”, with a red beard and a gray hooded sweatshirt; and a black male with long dreads, wearing a blue t-shirt with red sleeves and baggy jeans. The suspects were confronted by the victim and they fled the area in a cream colored Chrysler 300.

Anyone with information about this incident or the possible suspects is encouraged to contact the Carbondale Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 618-549-COPS.
