Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul announces webinars to combat online child exploitation

llinois’ Attorney General is launching a series of webinars to teach families how to protect children from being exploited online.

Local, state, and federal law enforcement joined Attorney General Kwame Raoul to offer resources for protecting children from online predators.

The webinars will discuss topics like understanding digital habits, maintaining a safe online environment, learning and understanding social media apps and more.

Raoul says theInternet Crimes Against Children Task Force has arrested 1780 sexual predators so far.

“The threat is out there and with our children to increase thing use of the Internet for education, entertainment and social interaction it is growing. Police and prosecutors alone cannot stem the tide of rising sexual images of children on the Internet. We all have a role to play.”

A new mobile forensic unit was also unveiled that will assist law enforcement investigating child pornography.
