A unique project between Carbondale Public Library and the non-profit Green Earth is helping people get active while reading. Francine Wien-Frankowski, the Children's Librarian says the goal is entertainment, while learning.
"Librarians take pages of books and mount them on posts along a trail, the families can walk along and read the book as they go, and it's just a really fun project."
The Oakland Nature Preserve will display the books, which will change weekly. This month's book is the halloween-themed "Creepy Carrots." Wien-Frankowski says an earlier test went over well.
"It started over the summer and we had such a great reaction we decided to continue the collaboration."
