Come out to celebrate the beauty of southern Illinois at the Wichmann Vineyard Grape Stomp and support a great local organization!

With proceeds supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois, a $15 ticket will get you a free glass of wine, a chance to stomp grapes, a chance to participate in or judge the Lucy-look-alike contest, food, live music with The Banjo Joe Show, and a great day in the vineyard.

Several years ago, our vineyard was the location for an annual grape stomp put on by award-winning winemaker Ted Wichmann. We are happy to bring the tradition back with live music, delicious wine, and plenty of grapes to be stomped!

Festivities will begin at 11:00 a.m. with live music from local musicians Banjo Joe and Danielle. Every fifteen minutes, a new set of stompers will step into our loaded barrels to see how much juice they can push out of the provided grapes. At the end of the day, the person with the most juice will be crowned the Grape Stomp champion, receiving a free bottle of Wichmann Vineyard wine and a set of wine glasses. There will also be a kids’ division and a Lucy Look-alike Contest. The Lucy contest winner will also receive a free bottle of wine and a set of wine glasses!

Tickets for the event are $15 with proceeds supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois. Participants are welcome to bring food to snack throughout the festival and food trucks will be available on site. Outside alcohol is not permitted. All participants will receive one free glass of wine of their choice from Wichmann Vineyard the day of the event.

Children under the age of 12 can stomp for $5 and will receive a participation medal designed specifically for this year’s event.
