Keep Carbondale Beautiful is preparing for their largest fundraiser this weekend.
This Saturday Keep Carbondale Beautiful will have their native tree and shrub sale at the Carbondale Town Square Pavilion.
Money raised at the bi-annual sale will support their litter control, beautification, waste reduction and education programs.
People can choose from dozens of varieties including dogwood, maple, buckeye and many more.
Executive Director Anne Krippenstapel says not planting native trees and shrubs can cause damage.
“A lot of non-native stuff encroaches on the diversity and impacts wildlife upon our land, and it's a pretty big problem. A lot of money goes in every year and public and private sectors to eradicate invasive species because it takes away a lot of hardiness in the trees and surrounding woodlands.”
The sale last from 9 to 2 rain or shine.
