36-year-old James Blanding of Murphysboro is wanted for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use/Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

A suspect wanted for firing gunshots into a crowd late Sunday afternoon in Carbondale has been identified.

Carbondale Police Friday announced 36-year-old James Blanding of Murphysboro is wanted for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use/Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

Blanding is accused of driving a silver Jeep Wrangler in front of a residence in the 800 block of North Marion Street where people were gathered and firing several gunshots.

He's also accused of exiting the Jeep and firing several more shots before driving south away from the area.

No injuries were reported. Some property damage was reported.
