A Carbondale man is jailed on new charges and outstanding warrants.

Carbondale Police officers responded to a business in the 1900 block of South Illinois Avenue late Friday night in reference to a report of a disorderly person.

The disorderly person was identified as 49-year-old Antwoine Smith.

During the course of the investigation, Smith was found to have two Jackson County warrants for his arrest for Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and for Failure to Appear in court for Battery.

He was also found to be in possession of two firearms. One was reported stolen during a prior theft case investigated by the Carbondale Police Department in January of this year.

Officers arrested Smith for both warrants and charged him with Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
