Marion capped off its run to a second straight Colt World Series title Tuesday night.
Marion scored a run in the bottom of the second, four more in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the bottom of the sixth en route to a 7-1 win over Brownsville, Texas at Rent One Park in Marion.
Marion Manager Nathan Bittle said his team made up of 15 and 16-year-old southern Illinois all-stars completed the goal of winning a championship.
"They played hard. They played together. They formed a bond. I was surprised they grew so quick, but they did in three weeks. (I) couldn't be happier."
Marion beat out four other teams from Texas, California, North Carolina and Aroma Park, Illinois.
