Amid Increasing COVID-19 Cases Southern Seven Health Department Urges Vaccinations

With the country seeing an increase in the highly contagious DELTA variant of the COVID 19 virus, health officials are urging people to not let their guard down. Shawnna Rhine is the Outreach Coordinator with the southern Seven Health Department. And she encourages people who are not vaccinated, to talk to their health provider.

"We just want anyone who is still vaccine hesitant, for whatever reason, to talk with their primary care provider, or to give us a call, so they can make a decision that's best for them. You know, don't let fear of the unknown keep you from getting vaccinated, make sure that you get it done."

The Southern 7 Health Department offers all three COVID-19 vaccines, which also protect against the DELTA variant. The health department serves residents of Johnson, Union, Pope, Hardin, Alexander, Pulaski and Massac counties.
