WSIU to Carry Gov. Rauner’s State of the State Speech on Wed, Jan 25

Carbondale, Ill. – WSIU-TV and WSIU Radio, the public media stations of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, will broadcast Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner’s annual State of the State Address to the Illinois General Assembly live at noon this Wednesday, January 25 on WSIU-TV 8.1, WUSI-TV 16.1, and WSIU Radio 91.9 FM, 91.9 HD, 90.3 FM & 88.9 FM. The speech also can be heard live at WSIU.org.

The broadcast will be presented as part of the statewide public television series Illinois Lawmakers. Series host Jak Tichenor, Interim Director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, will anchor the program, which will include bipartisan reaction to the Governor's speech by legislative leaders and analysis from veteran journalists Amanda Vinicky, correspondent for Chicago Tonight on WTTW Chicago, and Rich Miller, founder and publisher of the political newsletter CapitolFax.com.
