Two Tornadoes Hit Cape Girardeau County

National Weather Service

The National Weather Service says two tornadoes touched down in Cape Girardeau County during Thursday evening's severe weather.

A storm damage survey released Friday afternoon by the National Weather Service in Paducah says an EF-0 tornado with winds speeds of 85-mph touched down 3-miles west of Jackson causing minor damage to about a dozen homes.

A second EF-0 tornado touched down northeast of Daisy with peak wind speed of 75-mph.  The tornado downed several trees and tree limbs.
