A southern Illinois lawmaker has been appointed to the state's newly created Taskforce on Sexual Discrimination and Harassment.
State Representative Natalie Phelps Finnie of Elizabethtown supported House Resolution 687, which created the Taskforce.
The resolution was adopted with strong bipartisan support, and created a taskforce that aims to research new policies that will combat sexual harassment in both government and the private sector.
Phelps Finnie also recently sponsored House Joint Resolution 83, which calls on those working in government to commit to working towards changing a culture that breeds sexual harassment.
