Slow Speed Police Pursuit in Grand Tower

Squad car

A Grand Tower man is in custody after leading authorities on a slow speed pursuit through the Jackson County community.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says 29-year-old Keith Ticer is jailed on two unrelated warrants, but additional charges are expected.
Around 3:15 Thursday afternoon, the sheriff's office received a call from a woman inside the Cardinal Corner convenience store, who said she had escaped after being held against her will. She said the armed suspect, believed to be Ticer, was inside his vehicle in the parking lot.

As deputies arrived and approached Ticer, he fled and led deputies on a pursuit through Grand Tower with speeds never exceeding 35 miles an hour. Ticer eventually lost control of the vehicle and fled on foot into the woods along the Mississippi River.

With the help from a K-9 with the Elkville Police Department, deputies apprehended Ticer when he tried to hide in a small shed.

No injuries were reported.
