A Southern Illinois University Carbondale student is in a St. Louis hospital after he fell from a 4th floor residence hall window.
In a message from Chancellor Rita Cheng Friday morning, the student was identified as Freshman Tyler Gravitt of Matteson.
A little after 2:00 am Friday SIU Police said they responded to University Hall on South Wall Street where a student apparently fell from a 4th floor window.
Campus police say Gravitt was transported to a local hospital, the Chancellor's office says he was later taken to a St. Louis hospital, where he is in Intensive Care.
Initial investigations indicate Gravitt's fall was accidental, but SIU Police are still looking into the matter.
