SIU Trustees will host a town hall meeting Thursday, aimed at getting community and constituency input in the search for a new system President.
Board Chairman Randal Thomas says the meeting will be a way for people, in an informal way, to talk about what they'd like to see in a new leader:
"Constituency groups, students and faculty, concerned individuals. We want to give them an opportunity to be with the Board, without a formal presentation - without a formal agenda, other than a listening agenda."
Current President Glenn Poshard announced this summer that he'll retire next year. A search committee has been formed, and an outside firm is being used to assist in the search.
The forum is scheduled for 11:30 Thursday morning in the Morris University Center at SIU Edwardsville. A similar meeting is scheduled for next month in Carbondale.
