A Dallas, Texas-based firm will help select SIU’s next President.
The University’s Executive Board approved a partnership with R. William Funk and AssociatesWednesday. The firm specializes in consulting and searches for higher education institutions.
Funk and Associates assisted with searches for President or Chancellor at Bradley University, Wichita State, Indiana State, and Purdue University in the last several years.
In addition to the search firm, 20 people were selected to serve on the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. That group is made up of faculty, staff, students and community members from Carbondale and Edwardsville; Trustee Donna Manering will chair the committee and Trustee Shirley Portwood will serve as the Board’s liaison.
Trustees expect the committee will meet sometime next month, and leaders remain hopeful a selection can be made before current President Glenn Poshard retires next June.
