SIU Commencement Saturday

More than 3,600 students will take part in Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Spring Commencement.

Graduation ceremonies take place Saturday at the SIU Arena.  Three separate ceremonies will be held beginning at 9:00 am for the College of Liberal Arts, College of Science, SIU School of Law, and SIU School of Medicine.  Another ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm for the College of Business and College of Education and Human Services.  A third ceremony will take place at 6:00 pm for the College of Agricultural Sciences, College of Applied Sciences and Arts, College of Engineering, and College of Mass Communication and Media Arts.

Frank Abaganale, Jr, a security and fraud expert whose life was the focus of the best selling book Catch Me If You Can, is the key note speaker for each of the three ceremonies.

SIU will also honor alumni Ella Lacey,  Robert Murphy, and Pamela and Philip Pfeffer for their service, commitment and humanitarian efforts.
