Parts of southern Illinois and southeast Missouri are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until early Tuesday afternoon.
The watch - in effect until 2:00pm - covers Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Perry, Union, and Williamson Counties in southern Illinois, and Cape Girardeau and Perry Counties in southeast Missouri.
Forecasters say the potential for storms to pop up through the middle part of the day could also include strong to severe weather, with an unstable atmosphere hovering over the region.
