Functional Family Therapy Team Under Development

Map
Jurisdiction of the First Judicial Circuit.

Clinicians are needed for a new intervention program targeting delinquent youth in southern Illinois.

The Functional Family Therapy team is being developed within the First Judicial Circuit.
First Circuit Redeploy Illinois program coordinator Jessica Beaty says the clinicians need a background in psychology or social work and a desire to remain in southern Illinois.

"We're looking really to build a team that starts out committed to this location and that is sustainable, even if the grants that fund the things that we do, we can't always guarantee that we'll always have those, so we'll still have these providers and this team established."

Beaty says court-involved youth may be referred to the therapy team through Redeploy Illinois or some other program. Redeploy Illinois gives serious or repeat juvenile offenders an alternative to prison by offering them community-based services such as therapy, mentoring and drug counseling.

Clinicians interested in joining the Functional Family Therapy team should email an application to Beaty  by end of business Friday, March 3 at jbeaty@unioncountyil.gov.
