Centralia Police, ISP Investigating Shooting Death

police

One person is dead and another injured in a shooting on the northeast side of Centralia late Sunday night.
Centralia Police Chief Doug Krutsinger says a resident found a body lying in an alley Monday morning. The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Marion County Coroner's office.

Krutsinger believes the man found dead was shot at the same time a second man was shot who ran to Fireside House Nursing to seek help. He was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for what authorities say are non-life threatening injuries.

Krutsinger says they have been able to talk to the injured man, but he was not cooperative in providing information on what happened.

State Police investigators have also been called in to help with the case.
