The Anna Police Department is asking for the public's help with identifying three suspects believed to have been involved in a theft at the Anna Walmart Supercenter.
On November 18, at just after 10 p.m., two men and a woman entered into the store. Authorities say while inside, as the woman was checking out at a register, one of the men opened a cash register drawer and removed cash from the register. The second man was standing in a position where the cashier couldn't see the other man opening the register. The man who took the cash from the register, opened the drawer with a key. The Anna Walmart is reporting a loss of approximately $1500.
During this investigation, the Anna Police Department learned two other Walmart stores in the area reported a similar theft occurring on the same day. Walmart stores in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Princeton, Kentucky reported three people entered that store and took cash from a drawer.
The Anna Police Department investigated a similar incident on May 24, 2014. On that date, Walmart reported an approximate $2600 loss. After investigating both cases, it was determined one of the subjects was present during both alleged thefts. The Shelbyville Walmart reported the same type theft on the same day of May 24, 2014.
If you have any information about any of these alleged thefts, please contact Detective Bryan Watkins at the Anna Police Department.
