Weather conditions are aligning for a potential winter storm throughout the region Wednesday night into Thursday. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued.

Kelly Hooper with the National Weather Service in Paducah says three to four inches of snow are possible with it starting around the evening commute.
"Late tomorrow (Wed) afternoon, maybe closer to dark. But, the heaviest snowfall should be after midnight."

He says the morning commute Thursday could be hazardous, but Mother Nature may help roads as the day progresses.

"They're still going to have to plow them, I imagine. But, if they get treatment down, under the snow, it might help because we're going to heat up above freezing, Thursday we're going to go above freezing and if they get the roads graded, there ought to be improvement through the day."

Hooper says this is the first significant November snowfall for the area since 2014.
